MSU Upsets #5 Texas 67-63

The Spartans pulled off a real nail-biter against the Texas Longhorns at the Toyota Center in Houston, Texas. The largest lead of the game was 7 points. With 18.6 seconds left Durrell Summers drained a 3-pointer from the corner which then put MSU ahead 65-63.

The game may have not been so close if MSU hadn't missed so many free throws or get dominated on the boards. They went 8 of 17 from the line and were out rebounded 37 to 29. Goran Suton's presence was sure felt after missing 6 games due to knee surgery. Suton in his second game back ended up with 18 points 2 rebounds and 2 steals.

Travis Walton shut down Texas' sharpshooter AJ Abrams. Abrams who averaged 28.5 points over his previous four games went 3-for-10 from the field and only scored 8 points. He went 0-for-4 from three-point range, failing to hit one for the first time this season.

MSU is now 8-2. Their next opponent is Oakland on December 27 at 5pm.
